FAQsWill you paint or draw anything? What if the painting's damaged in transit? Could my photo get damaged posting to you?
Will you paint or draw anything? Like what exactly?! There has been nothing as yet I'm not willing to undertake, but I do reserve the right to refuse any commission.
It depends on the size of the painting. Smaller items, such as Per Manus photos, can be sent quite safely via Royal Mail special delivery in card-backed envelopes or boxes. Larger items, particularly framed work, will be sent by dedicated artwork carriers.
We certainly can, postage would need to be worked out at the end and would obviously cost more. A 1kg packet sent by FedEx to America costs £34.50. With paintings the costs rise massively. Specialist carriers that will guarantee safe shipping of frames and glass cost over £400 for a 1400mm x900mm x50mm crate to the USA.
What if the painting's damaged in transit? It is strongly recommended that all items be checked for damage when they are signed for on receipt. If you sign for the painting and only later find it to be damaged, it will no longer be compensated for by the carriers and there is nothing we will be able to do. Photographs will be sent in envelopes larger than the photos so as to minimise damage to corners. All pictures will be sent compensation fee and it is still advisable to check them on receipt.
Could my photo get damaged posting to you? Sadly yes, it could. I recommend packing photos in strong card-backed envelopes (preferably ones we can re-use and cut down on your postage costs!) and send it by Royal Mail special delivery which has up to £500 compensation - just confirm how much compensation is paid for loss/damage with the clerk. A fixed level compensation costs pennies more. However, the reason you're sending it to me is for possible tampering or restoration and so any damage I could remove anyway.
We guarantee that any work carried out will be to the absolute best of our abilities. Regarding photo work and websites, you will be able to see the work, offer criticism and ask for alterations as it progresses. With commissioned paintings, viewings throughout are impossible unless you are local. We can, however, photograph the work and email you updates if required.
yes, if you have a Paypal account. But you can also pay for work by cash, cheque or bank draft.
